Owls Pick Up No. 9 Seed for CCCAA Regional Tournament
SACRAMENTO - Pairings for the upcoming CCCAA Men's Basketball Regionals were announced on Sunday. Competition begins on Tuesday with all games played at the site of the lower seed. The three regional rounds are being played over a five-day span after the regular season was extended to accommodate the makeup of games that were postponed during the season due to Covid-19 protocols.
Citrus College picked up the No. 9 seed of the Southern California region and will face eighth-seeded Ventura College on Thursday, March 3, after a first-round bye. The Owls come off a four-game winning streak, looking to carry that momentum with them as they head into the postseason. Citrus boasts a 21.3 scoring margin over its last three wins on the floor and averages 86.6 points (ninth-best in the CCCAA) and 11.7 steals per game, which ranks second in the state.
The top four teams from each of the Northern California and Southern California regions will advance to the Final Eight at West Hills College Lemoore on March 11-13.
