No. 3-ranked Citrus College scored first and held on for an 84-69 victory over LA Valley Wednesday night.
The Owls improved to 22-3 overall and 10-1 in Western State Conference-South, holding onto their first-place standing. The Monarchs drop to 9-16 on the year and 4-7 in conference.
Five Owls finished the night in double figures, led by Anthony Tello with 19 points (8-for-15) and four steals. Aibigho Ujadughele followed with 14 points, while Chris Chiles chipped in 12 points (4-for-7). Rudy Suarez added 11 points (4-for-9) and Jayden Johnston rounded out the group with 10 points.
Citrus scored 24 of its points off turnovers, forcing LA Valley to turn the ball over 21 times.
The Owls return home to host Glendale College on Saturday, tipping off at 5:30 p.m. in the Owls' Nest.
