No. 16-ranked Citrus College grabbed its fifth win in a row Wednesday afternoon, downing Riverside City College 97-70.
The Owls improve to 5-1 on the year, while the Tigers drop to 3-3 overall.
As a team, Citrus forced 32 turnovers for RCC, which led to 39 points for the home team. The Owls also boasted a 52.5 shooting percentage from the field in the first half to take a commanding 54-32 lead at halftime and never looked back.
Five Owls finished the game in double figures, led by JJ Mitchell's 25 points (12-for-16). Rudy Suarez posted 16 points with five triples in the game and Tyrel Creger chipped in 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. EJ Bryson contributed 11 points (4-for-11) off the bench, while Brandon Suber finished with 10 points (2-for-5).
Off the glass, Mitchell and Myles Blackman led Citrus with five rebounds each.
The Owls look to carry momentum into their tournament next weekend and tip off against LA City College first on Friday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m.
