No. 19-ranked Citrus College took on No. 2-ranked West LA College Wednesday but fell 87-78 in its first Western State Conference loss of the year.
The Owls slip to 15-6 overall and 6-1 in conference, while the Wildcats improve to 19-2 on the year and remain undefeated in WSC action at 7-0.
Four Owls finished the night in double figures, led by the duo of JJ Mitchell (7-for-15) and Tyrel Creger (5-for-12) who each chipped in 18 points. Myles Blackman (5-for-7) and EJ Bryson (5-for-8) followed with 11 points.
Mitchell and Blackman each grabbed seven rebounds for the Owls.
Citrus looks to bounce back at home on Saturday as it begins the second half of conference action. The Owls host Bakersfield College at 3 p.m.
