No. 19-ranked Citrus College held on for an 80-73 victory over Santa Monica College Wednesday.
The Owls improve to 17-6 overall and 8-1 in Western State Conference action, while the Corsairs drop to 12-11 on the year and 5-4 in conference.
Tyrel Creger had a stellar game, posting 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out nine assists. JJ Mitchell followed with 15 points (6-for-13), while Malik Khouzam chipped in 14 points (5-for-12) and Rudy Suarez (4-for-5) added 12 points.
Citrus hits the road for a 3 p.m. contest at the College of the Canyons on Saturday.
