The Citrus College Men's Basketball team traveled to Cerritos College on Friday night to earn an 88-73 victory, extending the Owls' win streak to three games while snapping the Falcons' three-game winning streak.
Citrus College improves to 9-2 overall on the season while Cerritos College moves to 7-4 overall.
The Owls went ahead 52-40 at halftime, knocking down seven of their 10 total three-pointers in the first half and going on a 10-0 run midway through the half to increase their lead.
The second half proved to be more defensive as the Owls limited the Falcons to only 33 points while holding Cerritos to 36.2% from the field and 26.3% from three-point range.
Although both sides were comparable in total turnovers, points off turnovers, 2nd chance points and points in the paint, the Owls outrebounded the Falcons 48-39 and outscored the Falcons with 12-0 in fastbreak points.
Citrus College was led by Tyler Isaak who recorded his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds while adding one assist and one block. Blake Ballard connected on both of his three-point attempts on his way to 12 points and three rebounds. Pejan Slater went 3-of-4 from the field while scoring nine points with seven rebounds, three assists and one steal. KJ Perry dropped eight points while adding three assists, two steals and two rebounds. Malik Khouzam provided a spark off the bench scoring 15 points with three three-pointers.
Citrus College (9-2) will host Fresno City College (5-6) this Tuesday, December 17th at 3 p.m.
