Owls Open 2025 With Win Over Raiders

The Citrus College Men's Basketball team snapped Moorpark Colleges' eight-game winning streak tonight with a 119-100 win in the Owls first game of 2025. 

No. 6 ranked Citrus College extends their winning streak to six games as they improve to 12-2 overall on the season while Moorpark College goes to 10-6 on the year. 

The Owls opened the new year with continued success as they put up their second most points of the season, shooting 64.9% from the field while knocking down 10-of-18 three pointers. After a contested first half with four ties and six lead changes, Citrus College went up 60-43 after Tyler Isaak hit a buzzer-beating shot going into halftime. 

The Raiders marched back midway through the second half as they cut the Owls' lead down to just six points with the score being 86-80 with 8:42 remaining in the game. Citrus found ways to score in bunches for the remainder of the second half and held a 21-point lead, their largest of the game, with under a minute in regulation. 

The Owls were led by Tyler Isaak with 25 points, seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. Blake Ballard dropped 22 points and added six rebounds, two assists and one steal. KJ Perry flashed his athleticism with two powerful dunks, one in each half, on his way to 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Amiri Meadows led the Owls with seven assists while adding eight points and three steals. Brandon Suber chipped in 12 points, three assists, one steal and one rebound. The Owls' bench outscored the Raiders 35-19 thanks to Brady Cook's 15 points, Malik Khouzam's 11 points (3-of-4 from three-point range) and Luis Marin's seven points off the bench. Brady Cook also led the Owls in rebounds with nine and steals, with four, while adding four assists off the bench. 

Citrus College will begin conference play next week as they host LA Valley College on Wednesday, January 8th at 7 p.m.
