Owls Win Third Conference Game in Five Days

The Citrus College Men's Basketball team wrapped up an impressive five-day stretch by defeating College of the Canyons 111-77 last night to pick up their third conference win.
Citrus College, ranked No. 5 in the state, improves to 15-2 overall and 3-0 in conference, while College of the Canyons falls to 5-12 overall and 1-2 in conference games.
The Owls jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead to begin the game and by halftime were up 56-31 due to a hounding defensive effort and efficient first half scoring (18-of-35 from the field).
After going 2-of-12 from three-point range in the first half, Citrus found their rhythm from deep in the second half, knocking down 8-of-16 three-pointers. The Owls extended their lead to 47 points late in the second half as their defense led to offense for easy buckets. Citrus outscored Canyons in points off turnovers (25-11), second chance points (19-13) and bench points (48-33). In a game where 54 total fouls were called, neither team shot well from the free throw line, the Cougars went 19-of-33 while the Owls went 23-of-38.
Tyler Isaak led the game in scoring with 20 points while adding a game-high 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal. KJ Perry dropped 19 points on 8-of-14 from the field and added five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Brady Cook came off the bench with 15 points and five rebounds. Ryan Raad contributed 14 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal off the bench. Blake Ballard Scored 12 points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal and a game-high two blocks. Brandon Suber led the Owls with seven assists while scoring seven points and securing six rebounds.
Citrus College will look to extend their win streak to 10 games when they travel to Santa Monica College this Saturday, January 18th for a 3 p.m. conference matchup.
