Owls Get 5th Conference Win in Bakersfield

Citrus College Men's Basketball traveled to Bakersfield College to pick up a 125-99 win last night, their 11th win in a row and fifth conference win. 

Citrus College moves to 17-2 overall and 5-0 in conference, while Bakersfield College goes to 9-10 overall and 1-4 in conference games. 

The Owls shot 50% from the field and went 6-of-12 from three-point range in the first half while forcing 12 turnovers to go up 60-46 at halftime. 

In the second half, Citrus College improved their shooting, going 52.3% from the field and connecting on 5-of-9 three-pointers. The Owls outscored the Renegades in points off turnovers (36-12), second chance points (30-21) and bench points (74-57). Citrus held their largest lead of 27 points late in the second half. 

The Owls had a balanced scoring effort with five players in double figures, led by Tyler Isaak with a season-high 28 points, three assists, two rebounds and one block. Blake Ballard came off the bench to score 23 points, grabbed three rebounds with one assist and one steal. Ryan Raad hit 5-of-6 from three on his way to 19 points and two rebounds off the bench. Pejan Slater recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, adding two assists. Malik Khouzam led the Owls with seven assists and added seven points, two steals and one rebound. 

Citrus College will host West LA College, the only remaining undefeated team in the WSC-South, this Saturday, January 25th at 3 p.m.
