No. 5 Ranked Owls Remain Undefeated in Conference

No. 5 ranked Citrus College Men's Basketball defeated Glendale College 109-71 last night to remain undefeated in conference games. The Owls have scored over 100 points in eight of their last nine games. 

Citrus College improves to 19-2 overall on the season and 7-0 in conference while Glendale College moves to 9-11 overall and 3-3 in conference. 

The Owls jumped on the Vaqueros early in the first half with suffocating defensive pressure, forcing 10 turnovers which led to transition buckets. Citrus went on multiple scoring runs of ten or more points in the first half while shooting 54.1% from the field and hitting 6-of-14 from beyond the arc. 

Up 56-22 going into the second half, Citrus remained aggressive defensively, forcing another 10 turnovers while only allowing Glendale to hit 3-of-13 three-pointers to negate Vaqueros' comeback effort. 

The Owls had six players in double figures as Blake Ballard led the team with 21 points, going a perfect 8-8 from the field and 4-4 from three-point range while adding seven rebounds and one steal. KJ Perry scored 17 points with two rebounds and one block. JJ Mitchell recorded his second straight double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and three blocks. Ryan Raad and Brady Cook each chipped in 12 points off the bench while Tyler Isaak dropped 11 points with 8 rebounds and three steals. Pejan Slater had nine points, nine rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block. 

Citrus College will be on the road next to matchup with LA Valley College this Saturday, February 1st at 3 p.m.
