Owls Finish 6th at Santa Barbara Invite

Lompoc, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Golf team took a break from Western State Conference competition this past weekend when they participated in the 2014 Santa Barbara City College Invitational. The Owls still went head to head with a number of other WSC schools, ultimately finishing in 6th place.

Sophomore Homerson So led the way yet again for the Owls, finishing with a two day combined score of 154. So had the second best round of the day on day one with a 78, and followed that up with the best round of the day on day two with a 76. Freshman Joshua Herman had the second best overall total with a 157. Herman shot an 80 on day one and followed that up with a second best day two round of 77.

Freshman Takakazu Furukawa finished third overall among Citrus golfers with a 163, while sophomores Joshua Davis and Matt Nolan both had combined scores of 167. As a team the Owls, posted a day one round of 398, while their day two round was a 410.

The Owls will be back in action on Monday when they resume conference match play at the Western State Conference Ventura College Event at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, CA. Tee-time is set for 11:00 AM.
