San Dimas, CA -- Nobody said it better than Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, and the Citrus College Men's Golf team was proof that there really is no place like home on Monday afternoon. The Owls finished in second place in their home hosted WSC Event at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course, falling only to Santa Barbara City College and beating conference power College of the Canyons for the first time in recent memory.

Freshman Justin Hung led the way for Citrus, by carding a round of 72. Hung's even par round was the second lowest round of the day and put him alone in fifth place after four golfers in front of him posted rounds of 71. After Hung it was freshman Samuel Mangiaterra who continued his recent strong play with a 75. Freshman James Bragger and sophomore John Gaynor both brought in rounds of 76, while freshman Tyler Bliss rounded out the scoring efforts with a 77.

As a team, Citrus shot a 376, besting the aforementioned Cougars by just one stroke. It was the best finish for the Owls this season, and kept them in fifth place in the conference team standings, moving them just two points shy of fourth place Glendale College.

The Owls will try to keep their momentum moving forward next week when they take part in the WSC Glendale Event at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. Tee-time is set for an 11:00 AM shotgun start.
