San Jacinto, CA - The Citrus College Men's Golf team took a break from WSC play on Wednesday afternoon to participate in the 2016 Mt. San Jacinto College Eagle Golf Classic at Soboba Springs Country Club. It was a tight match with just 20 strokes separating the first place team from the 10th place team. The Owls would have a good showing, coming in eighth.

Freshman Brandon Dooley continued to shine out on the links firing a two under par 70. That would put him in a four-way tie for low man on the day. After that it was sophomores Benjamin Bencomo and Tyler Bliss who posted rounds of 77. For Bliss it was his best round of the young season. Sophomore Tyler Hoefferle and freshman Kurtis Carasik rounded out the scoring rounds with scores of 81 and 89 respectively.

As a team, the Owls shot a 394. They were just four strokes out of a top four finish, while also finishing ahead of fellow WSC member Santa Barbara City College for the first time in any event this season.

The Owls will be back in WSC action on Monday when they take part in the WSC Bakersfield Event. Tee-time is set for 10:00 AM at Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield.
