Dearth Moves Into First in WSC Standings

Citrus College battled adversity and took sixth as a team at the Rig City Invitational, hosted by Bakersfield College on Monday.

The Owls posted a team score of 406 – four strokes separated the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-place teams.

John Dearth led the Owls, carding an even-par 72. It moved him into the top spot in the player standings with a 73.33 average score.

Kerry Valenzuela followed with a 79, while Matt Ramirez and Cortez Herrera each posted an 83. Matt Ibarra rounded out the scorers with an 89.

The Owls get two weeks to prepare for the Western State Conference Championship on April 25.
