Citrus Grabs Solid Start to Conference

Citrus College put in solid numbers in its first Western State Conference competition of the year, taking fifth as a team with a 418 – shaving 20 strokes off last week's performance. The Owls were 15 strokes off third-place Ventura College, which finished with a 403, and finished 22 strokes in front of sixth-place Bakersfield College (440). 

Kabir Chadha led the Owls, shooting 78 to sit tied for sixth individually. Kerry Valenzuela and Daichi Nishisu weren't far behind Chadha, each carding 81's on the day, while Lorenzo Herrera also shot under 90 with an 88. Chris Ruiz rounded out the scorers with a 90, while Matthew Ibarra was one stroke off with a 91 as the Owls' drop score.

The Owls continue conference action next week at River Ridge Golf Course for the WSC #2.
