Owls Make Big Improvements on Day 2 of Pt. Conception Open
Citrus College got its season underway with the two-day Pt. Conception Open. The Owls finished 10th on the first day but made big improvements to post the fourth-best team score on Monday and finished with an 840.
Daichi Nishisu led the Owls with a 161 (82/79). Lorenzo Herrera had the biggest improvement from the first round, shaving 13 strokes off his Sunday score (90) to post a 77 on Monday for a 167 total score. Kabir Chadha was right on his tail with a 168 (90/78), while Chris Ruiz was just one stroke behind him at 169 (86-83).
Alex Morales made his collegiate debut with a 177 (89-88), while Ashtin Mount rounded out the Owl scores with a 178.
Citrus looks to keep improving into next week as it opens Western State Conference action on Monday at the Oakmont Country Club.
