Santa Monica -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team dropped their fourth straight match and sixth in their last seven on Tuesday afternoon at Santa Monica College. The Owls were shutdown offensively after being held to just six shots on the day in a 2-1 loss.

The Corsairs struck early against the Owls scoring in both the 11th and 19th minutes of the contest. Down 2-0, Citrus was held back offensively as they took just three shots to Santa Monica's eight.

In the second half, Citrus tried to rally, but again they were held to just three shots on the half. One of those three shots though found the back of the net after freshman Pedro Felix used an assist from freshman Ryo Takamine to make it 2-1 in the 80th minute.

Unfortunately that's all the offense Citrus mustered. Freshman Greg Veron was strong in goal for the Owls stopping seven shots on the day, the second highest total of the season for him.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 4-11-4 overall and 3-9-3 in conference play. Citrus will wrap up the 2012 season on Friday at home against Glendale College. The match is set for a 1:00 PM start.
