Moorpark, CA -- After being handed four straight losses over the last three weeks, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team finally proved what an explosive team they could be. Citrus scored four goals in the second half, all within a span of 20 minutes as they shocked first place Moorpark College 4-0.

Citrus showed signs of offensive life against the Raiders with five shots against Moorpark in the first half. Despite their best 45 minutes of offense since the start of the month, the Owls were held scoreless in that first half.

In the second half, Citrus would be held at bay for a few minutes more. Things started to swing in their favor though in the 60th minute when freshman Antonio Bernal scored off an assist from sophomore Justin Dryer to give the Owls their first lead in their last 234 minutes of play.

The Owls weren't done. Amato struck again six minutes later when he put the ball in the back of the net in the 66th minute this time thanks to an assist from freshman Takuro Kawashima. Kawashima handed out another assist less than ten minutes after that when sophomore Justin Dryer pounded home the ball in the 75th minute. Freshman Grayson Iwasaki scored the fourth and final goal in the 80th minute to put the Owls at their four goals scored.

With the win, Citrus improves to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in Western State Conference play. The Owls will be back at home this coming Tuesday when they kick off October with a WSC meeting with College of the Canyons. First touch is set for 2:00 PM.
