Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team continued it's recent impressive streak of play on Friday afternoon when it went on the road and picked up a good tie at Santa Monica College. The Owls earned a point in the conference standings and grabbed some power points to boot, as they tied the Corsairs 1-1.

The host Corsairs would score the game's first goal, scoring on a shot in the first half that had them lead all the way through the break. In the second half though, the Owls were able to even things up when freshman Antonio Bernal found freshman Michael Montoya for his first score of the year. Freshman keeper Cesar Valverde notched six total saves and the rest of the Citrus defense was able to keep Santa Monica at bay for the rest of the half as they grabbed a crucial tie.

With the tie, Citrus moves to 4-6-1 on the year and 3-3-1 in Western State Conference play. The Owls have just one more contest left in the first half of conference play, as they face Glendale College this coming Tuesday in Citrus Stadium. That match is set for a 4:00 PM start.
