Freshman Grayson Iwasaki had his third multi-goal game of the season on Tuesday in Citrus' 5-1 win over Glendale.

Glendora, CA -- Over the last three weeks, it could be argued that there's been no hotter team in Southern California than the Citrus College Men's Soccer team. In that span, the Owls have gone 4-1-1 and scored 20 goals in six matches, including a 5-1 win over Glendale College on Tuesday.

The Owls wasted little time in making their presence felt. Citrus controlled the ball from the opening kick-off and never really looked back. Citrus' first goal came in the 11th minute of the contest, when freshman Dylan Kiss penetrated into the Glendale box and drew a foul. The ensuing penalty kick saw freshman Grayson Iwasaki bury the ball in the back of the net and put Citrus up 1-0.

Iwasaki scored again less than five minutes later when he took a pass from sophomore Ismael Rodriguez and ripped the cords again. Freshman Michael Montoya scored his second goal in as many games in the 22nd minute when he took a cross from freshman Takura Kawashima and headed it past the Glendale keeper to make it 3-0.

Glendale would come out of the second half show some signs of life with a goal less than a minute into the half that cut the lead to two. Citrus got right back up on the horse though and continued to apply the pressure offensively drawing a foul on top of the Glendale box midway through the 50th minute. Sophomore Silbestre Valencia would take the free kick from the top of the box and send a low screamer into the lower right hand corner of the net to make it 4-1.Citrus' fifth and final goal would come on another penalty kick. This time it would Rodriguez's turn to step to the ball and put a goal next to his name. Rodriguez did so easily making it 5-1 in the 78th minute.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-6-1 overall and 4-3-1 in WSC play. The Owls will start the second half of WSC action this Friday when they try to avenge an early loss to LA Mission College at LA Mission. The match is set for a 2:30 PM start.
