Encino, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team's 2013 campaign has been full of ebbs and flows all season long. Lately, the Owls have been riding a nice flow, but Friday was an ebb for the Citrus as they suffered their first actual defeat on the field in nearly two weeks in a 5-1 loss at LA Mission College.

Early on it looked like the Owls could continue the flow as they scored first getting a goal from freshman Dylan Kiss in the 6th minute off an assist from freshman Antonio Bernal. That would be all the goal scoring for Citrus though, as the host Eagles used the next 84 minutes to slice up the Owl defense.

Mission got their first strike in the 29th minute, and followed it up four minutes later to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. In the second half they made their lead two goals with a score in the 57th minute, and then put the game away for good late with two scores in the final five minutes of regulation.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 5-8 overall and 4-5 in Western State Conference play. The Owls have a tough stretch coming up, but they do get three of their next four games at home. That stretch starts on Tuesday when they host first place Oxnard College at 4:00 PM.
