Freshman Grayson Iwasaki scored his 10th goal of the season for Citrus on Tuesday, a new single season record for the Owls, in a losing effort.

Glendora, CA -- For 45 minutes, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team hung with first place Oxnard College. The Owls couldn't close the deal though, as they gave up four goals over the final 45 minutes as they suffered a 5-1 loss.

Oxnard dominated possession from the get go, but the Owls hung tough in the first half, biding their time and getting a food good chance. Both teams took six shots each in that first half, with the Condors taking a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute, after drawing a penalty kick, but the Owls returned the favor in the 43rd minute when a PK earned off a corner, saw freshman Grayson Iwasaki tie the game up at one goal each. It was Iwasaki's 10th goal of the year, breaking the Citrus record for most goals in a single season.

In the second half, things changed dramatically. The Condors proved why they're the most dynamic team in the WSC, going up 2-1 in the 54th minute, and then scoring three goals in the final 15 minutes of the contest. Oxnard thoroughly dominated Citrus in that final 45 minutes, taking 12 total shots, to Citrus' one.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 5-9 overall and 4-6 in WSC play. The Owls will take Friday off before hosting Moorpark College next Tuesday afternoon for another conference tilt. That game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
