Glendora, CA -- Sophomore Justin Dryer's header off a corner in stoppage time on Tuesday afternoon, came just in time for the Citrus College Men's Soccer team. The goal gave the Owls a 2-1 win over visiting Moorpark College, completing an 0-1 comeback in the final seven minutes of the contest.

The Owls controlled the tempo of the game throughout, taking 22 shots to Moorpark's seven. Still, Citrus couldn't get the ball past the Raider keeper until very late. Moorpark would actually score the game's first goal, but their score was also a late venture. The Raiders went up 1-0 when they scored in the 81st minute.

Trailing, Citrus turned things up a notch. The Owls pressured the ball down the field, and got a throw in deep in their own territory midway through the final 10 minutes. Sophomore Silbestre Valencia threw the ball in towards the box, where it was headed by Dryer at the top. The ball then bounced over the last row of Moorpark defenders and found the head of freshman Daniel Ortiz who headed the ball into the right hand side of the net past the Moorpark keepers hands.

Tied at 1-1, the Owls continued to press. Well into stoppage time the Owls earned one of their 11 corners of the day. Despite coming up empty on the first 10, Citrus wasn't to be denied in their final attempt. Freshman Takuro Kawashima sent a great bending ball into the box, where Dryer headed it home to give the Owls the 2-1 win.

With the win, Citrus improves to 6-9 overall and 5-6 in Western State Conference play. The Owls will head on the road this Friday when they take on College of the Canyons. First touch is set for 4:00 PM in Santa Clarita.
