Santa Clarita, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team earned seven corner kicks on Friday afternoon in their WSC meeting at College of the Canyons. The host Cougars earned just three, but it was Canyons who put the Owls in the corner with a 3-1 win.

The first half was active with Citrus taking five shots and Canyons six. Neither team found the back of the net though. In the second half both teams ratcheted things up. Canyons was the main offensive aggressor with 10 shots to Citrus' four. That aggressiveness paid off for the Cougars when they took a 1-0 lead in the 58th minute, and then a 2-0 lead four minutes later.

The Owls would cut their deficit in half shortly thereafter when sophomore Silbestre Valencia took a deep shot and put it high in the goal over the Canyons' keepers hands in the 65th minute. Citrus would take three more shots the rest of the way but were kept out of the net, while Canyons put the game away for good in stoppage time with an insurance score.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 6-10 overall and 5-7 overall. The Owls will be back home on Tuesday when they host Santa Barbara City College for a 1:00 PM matchup.
