El Cajon, CA — The Citrus College Men's Soccer team hit the road for the first time this 2014 season and were sent back home empty handed. The Owls travelled to Cuyamaca College, and were blanked by the Coyotes 3-0.

It's the first time in the young 2014 campaign in which the Owls were held scoreless. Citrus watched as Cuyamaca twice in the first ten minutes. Citrus would settle in defensively, and didn't allow the third Coyote goal until late in the day when they scored in the final minutes of the contest.

On the offensive side of things, Citrus mustered just two shots in the first half. The Owls fared better in the second with five shots and a pair of corners, but Citrus had nothing to show for any of it. Sophomore Takuro Kawashima led the team with three shots taken, and sophomore keeper Cesar Valverde had four saves.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 0-2-1 on the year. The Owls will be back out on the road next Friday when they take on Norco College in Norco at 4:00 PM.
