Norco, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team earned their first win of the 2014 season on Friday evening when they defeated host Norco College in dramatic fashion. The Owls scored the game winning goal in the 86th minute after a fantastic goal keeper save to earn the 1-0 win.

Citrus had its chances on Friday evening, as they went toe to toe with the Mustangs. The Owls rattled off nine shots in the first 45 minutes and earned a pair of corners to no avail. Citrus was slowed down a touch offensively in the second half, but still managed four more shots and three more corners, but again nothing came of it until nearly the end of the contest.

Freshman keeper Oswaldo Martinez made his debut in goal for Citrus on Friday night, and he had an outstanding showing, clearing five saves and earning Citrus' first shut-out of the year. His final save proved to be especially important as shortly thereafter sophomore Austin Amato took a pass from sophomore Shusuke Kajiwara and buried it to give the Owls their 1-0 advantage.

With the win, Citrus improves to 1-2-1 on the year. The Owls will now turn their attention to their 2014 Western State Conference schedule which begins on Tuesday when they host Glendale College at 4:00 PM in Citrus Stadium.
