Van Nuys, CA -- After opening up their WSC schedule on Tuesday with a big win over Glendale College, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team went on the road on Friday afternoon and were sent back home with a loss, 2-0 at the hands of Los Angeles Mission College.

Citrus did their best to keep pace with the team with the best overall record in the WSC. The Owls took five shots in each half, but only framed two of their ten total shots on goal. Meanwhile, sophomore goal keeper Cesar Valverde was taking incoming right and left stopping four shots in the first half and seven more in the second for a season high 11 saves on the day.

The Eagles would strike early, scoring just seven minutes into the contest. LA Mission would do it again midway through the first, scoring in the 24th minute to go ahead comfortably 2-0. The Owls would earn three total corners on the day, but nothing arose for any of the three, as Citrus was shutout for just the second time this year.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 2-3-1 on the year and 1-1 in WSC play. The Owls will try and regroup on Tuesday when they host perennial WSC favorite Oxnard College on Tuesday at 4:00 PM.
