Santa Maria, CA -- A trend has emerged for the Citrus College Men's Soccer team so far in 2014. The Owls have arguably been the most competitive team in the Western State Conference not on the top of the standings. Citrus proved their worth again with yet another tie on Friday afternoon, 1-1 at Allan Hancock College.

Friday's tie may have proved a little more disappointing than previous efforts by Citrus. The Owls outshot the Bulldogs 29-11 on the day, but only mustered one goal. Citrus scored first in the contest, getting a strike from freshman Adrian Vera Pascual via an assist by freshman Giovanni D'Angelo in the 44th minute. Citrus would keep a clean sheet through the first half, but Allan Hancock knotted the game up just 10 minutes into the second half tying the game up, where it would stay the remainder of the game.

With the tie, Citrus' record moves to 2-6-3 on the year and 1-4-2 in WSC play. The Owls will be back home on Tuesday when they host Santa Monica College.
