Glendora, CA -- After being close a number of times, at the Citrus College Men's Soccer team finally got their big upset on they year when they knocked off SoCal #8 Los Angeles Mission College 3-2.

It was a tight game throughout the entirety of the contest. Both teams took 12 shots and Citrus took five corners to Mission's four. The scoring didn't start until late in the first half when the Owls drew a penalty kick in the 43rd minute, an attempt that freshman Erick Romo buried to make it 1-0 as the game headed to halftime.

 In the second half all heck broke loose. LA Mission tied the game up in the 54th minute, but the Owls drew yet another PK in the 57th, but this time it was sophomore Austin Amato who took the reigns and calmly placed it in the back of the net. Leading 2-1, the Owls watched as the Eagles tied the game up yet again with a beautiful pass and finish in the 84th minute.

 Citrus didn't quite though, and less than six minutes later, Amato was scoring his second goal of the game, this time finishing after a LA Mission turnover, pulling the keeper out of the box and sending one down the line that made it 3-2.

With the win, Citrus improves to 3-7-4 overall and 2-5-3 in WSC play. The Owls will be on the road on Friday when they travel to a Oxnard College for a 4:00 PM start.
