Owls Settle for Tie With Moorpark

Glendora, CA -- After more or less dominating the ball in Friday's match with visiting Moorpark College, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team was forced to settle for a 1-1 tie against the visiting Raiders.

Friday's contest was close in the first 45 minutes with, each team taking four shots. Two of Moorpark's first four shots were on frame, one of which found the back of the net, putting Citrus in a 1-0 hole just 26 minutes in.

In the second half, the Owls turned up the heat offensively, taking seven shots to Moorpark's three. The Owls framed up four of those seven shots, but only one resulted in a goal, when sophomore Shusuke Kajiwara hit a rocket in the 59th minute to even the game up.

With the tie, Citrus moves to 3-8-5 overall and 2-6-3 in WSC play. The Owls will be back at home on Wednesday when they host second place College of the Canyons at 3:00 PM.
