Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team scored early and often on Tuesday afternoon in their regular season home finale against Allan Hancock College. The Owls scored five goals in the first 15 minutes of the game, as they went on to defeat the Bulldogs 8-1.

Freshman Dakyer Castillo Villalobos got things going with a goal in the 7th minute. Less than three minutes later Castillo Villalobos lit the scoreboard up again this time via a pass from sophomore Marcos Medina. In the 14th minute it was freshman Adrian Vera Pascual who took a pass from Castillo Villalobos and buried it to make it 3-0.

Less than a minute later, sophomore Michael Montoya was the last Owl to touch the ball before Hancock failed to clear the ball and instead kicked it into the back of their own net, and another minute after that it was 5-0 when Vera Pascual took passes from Castillo Villalobos and freshman Samuel Springer and pounded home a picture perfect score.

In the second half, Citrus kept the pressure on, as freshman Erick Romo scored back to back goals. The first was in the 77th minute when he took a pass from the right side of the field and then buried it in the opposite corner. Four minutes later Romo ripped the cords again this time off a free kick about 25 yards out that just found the top right corner of the goal.

Hancock would break up the Owl score fest with a goal in the 86th minute, but Montoya would score again when he took a pass from Vera Pascual and somehow found the back of the net through a scrum in the goal box.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-9-5 on the year and 4-7-4 in WSC play. The Owls will close out the 2014 season on Friday when they travel to Santa Monica College for a 4:00 PM showdown.
