Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer program's 2014 season finished on a high note on Friday afternoon. The Owls travelled to Santa Monica College and upended the host Corsairs 3-2 in their season finale.
Citrus got on the board first near the end of the first half, when sophomore Michael Montoya scored off a pass from freshman Dakyer Castillo Villalobos. Santa Monica would answer back with two early second half goals, but the Owls had an answer of their own when Castillo Villalobos scored off a pass from freshman Shun Sekiguchi in the 54th minute. Montoya would scored the game winning goal 16 minutes later, an unassisted strike in the 70th minute for his fourth goal in two games.
With the win, Citrus' finishes with a 6-9-5 record and 5-7-4 mark in Western State Conference play.
