Men’s Soccer Has Five Named All-WSC

Glendora, CA -- The Western State Conference All-Conference list was announced recently for Men's Soccer and Citrus College had five individuals named to the team. The Owls had one player on the 1st team, two on the 2nd, and another pair named Honorable Mention.

Leading the pack was sophomore Austin Amato. Amato was tied for the lead in points (11) and goals (5), while chipping in with an assist. Two of Amato's five goals, were game deciding scores. On the second team was sophomores Cesar Valverde and Shusuke Kajiwara. Valverde made 11 starts in goal for the Owls, stopping a team leading 65 shots and posting a team best 1.67 goals against average. Valverde was also responsible for one shutout on the year. Kajiwara meanwhile totaled nine points, scoring three goals, and sharing the team lead with three assists.

Rounding out the honors were freshmen Erick Romo and Dakyer Castillo Villalobos. Romo tied for the team lead with five goals scored, while Castillo Villalobos notched 11 points with four goals, and three assists, most of which came in the last third of the season.
