Owls Drop to Last Place In Conference

Glendora, CA -- In a showdown that featured the bottom two teams in the Western State Conference standings, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team fell to visiting Moorpark College 2-0. The loss, dropped the Owls to last place in the WSC standings.

The first half featured limited fireworks in the first half. Citrus took four shots total in the opening frame compared to three looks by the visiting Raiders. Citrus outearned Moorpark in the corners category 3-0, but none of that mattered as it was Moorpark who lit up the board first with a strike in the 33rd minute.

In the second half, the pace picked up with each team taking eight shots a piece. Moorpark took five total corners in the second half, while Citrus took four. It was Moorpark once again though who found the back of the net in the 84th minute putting the Owls on ice.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 2-12-2 overall and 2-9-1 in WSC play. Citrus will be on the road on Tuesday when they travel to College of the Canyons for a 1:00 PM first touch.
