Santa Clarita, CA - The Citrus College Men's Soccer team closed out the second most successful season in program history on Friday afternoon with a 1-0 victory at College of the Canyons. Citrus scored their goal midway through the first half and then hung on in the second half of their victory over the Cougars.

Citrus came out of the gates on fire offensively, rattling off seven shots to Canyons' five through the first 45 minutes of action. One of those seven shots would find the back of the net when freshman Joel Rosales took a pass from freshman Vladmir Centeno in the 24th minute and blasted it past the Canyons keeper.

That goal would be all Citrus would need for the remaining 66 minutes, but the Cougars didn't make it easy. The Owls would be held without a shot in the second half, while they watched Canyons take six shots in total in the last half of the match. The Owls defense and freshman keeper Gabriel Perez Negron held strong though, as Perez Negron stopped three shots and picked up his third shutout of the season in the process.

With the win, Citrus' record ends at 9-7-3 overall and 4-4-2 in WSC South play.
