After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Citrus College battled from behind to take the lead but couldn't hold on in a 2-2 draw with San Diego Mesa Tuesday afternoon.

The Owls move to 2-2-2 on the year with the tie, while the Olympians sit at 1-4-1 on the year.

Less than eight minutes into the second half, the Owls earned a free kick about 30 yards out. Andrew Garibian stepped up to take it and hammered it off the crossbar and into the net for the equalizer.

In the 75th minute, Citrus drew another foul, this time resulting in an Owl penalty kick. Lance Becker finished the PK with ease, past an outstretched San Diego Mesa goalkeeper to put the Owls in front 2-1.

The lead didn't last, however, as the Olympians capitalized in the 87th minute to force Citrus to settle for a tie.

Citrus remains at home as Allan Hancock comes to town on Friday for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
