Citrus College kicked off the new year on the road at Oxnard College but couldn't hold off the defending CCCAA State Champions in a 4-0 loss.
The Fighting Owls open the year at 0-1-0, while the Condors start the year at 1-0-0.
Citrus had eight chances offensively but couldn't find the back of the net. Fredy Hernandez Vasquez provided a spark off the bench with four shots in the game, while Eduardo Marquez had two and Jacob Ponce and Isaac Ochoa each had one shot.
The Owls look to take some lessons from the loss into next week when they host Cypress College on Friday for a 3 p.m. kickoff in the Citrus Stadium.
