After being held scoreless on Tuesday, Citrus College came alive Friday afternoon and grabbed a 3-0 victory over Victor Valley College.

The Owls improve to 5-2-2 overall, while the Rams drop to 2-7-1.

Citrus came out fired up and found the back of the net in the 13th minute. Isaac Ochoa drove in a cross, finding Sammy Ghandour at the back post, who fired off a shot from close range to put the Owls on the board.

The Owls struck again right before halftime after drawing a foul in Ram territory. Jose Alvarez-Novales sent a long ball down the left line, allowing Ghandour to one-touch it through traffic to Hector Guevara, who hammered it home for his first collegiate goal.

Victor Valley had a chance to cut the margin in half just seconds before halftime, but Guevara saved it off the line to keep his team in front 2-0 at the break.

In the 69th minute, Eduardo Marquez put the game away off an Alan Lira assist.

Citrus looks to carry momentum as it heads to Santa Barbara College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest.
