Men's Soccer Get First Win of Season

The Citrus College Men's Soccer team traveled to Chula Vista on Tuesday evening for a matchup with Southwestern College. 

The Owls played well and capitalized on their six shots by scoring three goals. 

In their first win of the season, freshman midfielder Nathan Rodriguez gave the Owls the lead with an early goal in the 11th minute. The remainder of the first half was scoreless by both teams. 

Late in the second half the Owls scored back-to-back goals in the 75th and 78th minutes, coming from Justin Flores and Edwin Varela. Both game sealing goals were assisted by midfielder Nathan Razo. Goalie Hector Arteaga recorded three saves in a shutout effort. 

Citrus College moves to 1-2 on the season while Southwestern falls to 0-2. 

The Owls will make their home debut on Friday, September 6th at 7:00 p.m. against Santa Barbara Community College.
