Citrus College Men's Soccer hosted San Diego Mesa College in their second home game of the season which resulted in a tough 2-0 loss.
Citrus College falls to 2-3-1 on the season while San Diego Mesa move to 2-2 on the year.
The Owls fought hard in a contested first half as they sent five shots toward the goal, nearly scoring on multiple occasions. The score remained 0-0 at halftime as San Diego Mesa could also not capitalize on their six shots.
In the second half the Owls earned three corner kicks and got six shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. After battling with the Olympians, the Owls could not stop a goal in the 68th minute which gave San Diego Mesa a 1-0 lead. Citrus drew seven second half fouls but struggled to get meaningful shots toward goal and in the 90th minute the Olympians scored another goal to go up 2-0 which was the final score.
Citrus College will look to get back on track at home as they host Allan Hancock College this Friday, September 20th at p.m.
