Owls Can't Contain No.11 Ranked Corsairs

Men's Soccer hosted Santa Monica College for a conference game last Friday, October 18th and suffered a 4-0 loss. 

Citrus College moves to 2-6-4 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference games while Santa Monica College improves to 8-2-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference. 

The Owls faced No.11 Santa Monica College and played competed hard, barely missing on early opportunities to score in the first half. Santa Monica College scored in the 28th minute up 1-0, which was the score at halftime.  

Citrus battled hard to start the second half, making it tough for the Corsairs to gain possession and get meaningful opportunities. 

In the 68th minute the Owls could not contain the high-scoring offense of Santa Monica as they scored to go up 2-0. Citrus allowed two more goals late in the second half for a final score of 4-0. 

Oscar Perez led the Owls with three shots while Alexis Gutierrez, Matt Gutierrez, and Anthony Martinez each had one shot. The Owls drew 16 fouls and took two corner kicks in the game. 

Citrus College will look to get back in the win column as they host Glendale College in a conference game, tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22nd at 4 p.m.
