Walnut, CA (Men's Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team wrapped up their weekend at the Mt. SAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon with another .500 day. The Owls started the day off with a 15-7 loss to Fullerton, before coming back with a 14-9 win against Chaffey.

Against Fullerton, the Owls were able to keep close through the first quarter, and even reasonable at the half when they trailed 6-3. The Hornets pulled away though in the second half outscoring Citrus 9-4 en route to the eight point win. Sophomore Ryan Batchelor and freshman Austin Sanchez each had three goals, while Batchelor added a pair of assists and a pair of steals.

In the second game, the Owls started off slow, trailing the Panthers 2-1 after the first quarter. Citrus rallied in the second quarter outscoring Chaffey 5-2, taking a 6-4 lead into the break. The Panthers kept it close in the third as they were down by just three goals headed into the fourth, but that's when Citrus pulled away scoring five goals to Chaffey's two in the final frame to get the win. Batchelor along with sophomore Raul Castaneda and freshman Elias Bustos all had four goals each.

With the win and the loss, Citrus moves to 3-7 on the year. The Owls will be back in the pool this coming weekend when they head South to take part in the San Diego Mesa Tournament. Citrus starts the weekend by taking on Grossmont College at 10:10 AM.
