San Luis Obispo, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team closed out their 2012 regular season Western State Conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon at Cuesta College. Unfortunately, the Owls suffered a loss as they fell to the Cougars 19-4.

As they have been wont to do all season long, the Owls struggled out of the gate as the Cougars built up a commanding 9-1 lead after the first quarter. Citrus controlled some of the bleeding in the second, but by the half the Owls were down 13-2. The Owls would be shutout entirely in the third, and scored just two more goals in the fourth as they ending up losing by 15.

Freshman Jonathan Aguirre led the way for the Owls with two goals in the loss. Freshmen Robert "Austin" Sanchez and Andy Perez provided the other two scores. Freshman John Martinez provided an assists as did Perez.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 8-16 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Owls will finish off their season next weekend at the WSC Championship Tournament.
