Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team picked up their first WSC win on Wednesday afternoon at Santa Monica College. The Owls did it with balance as they had six players score at least one goal in a 10-7 victory over the Corsairs.

Citrus would take an early 4-3 lead over Santa Monica in the first quarter. They then extended their lead to three at the half after ours or if the Corsairs 4-2 in the second quarter. In the third both teams came up empty, but in the fourth each team scored a pair of goals, as the Owls preserved their three point advantage.

Freshman Charles Ortega led the way with a trio of scores. Freshman Kris Williams, and sophomore Christian Deamer each scored twice. In goal, sophomore Andy Perez held the Corsair offense at bay with 17 saves.

Citrus will take a break from tournament play this upcoming weekend. The Owls will be back in the water next Wednesday when they're back home for another WSC matchup. Citrus will take on Ventura College at 5:30 PM.
