Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team ran their win streak to four games on Wednesday afternoon when they travelled to Santa Monica College for a WSC showdown. The Owls rolled against the Corsairs 20-5.

Citrus wasted little time in jumping all over Santa Monica, scoring five goals in the opening quarter, while holding the Corsairs to one. Little changed in the second when Citrus outscored Santa Monica 5-2, before putting together a 6-1 third and 4-1 fourth to go on for the 15 point win.

Freshman Daniel Velazquez led all scorers with five goals on the afternoon, while sophomore Jonathan Lotero added four, and freshman James Adams three. Velazquez also led the way with four assists, while freshman Mark Naranjo led the team with four steals. In between the pipes freshman Ian Castillo put together a solid performance stopping 11 of the 16 shots he faced.

With the win, Citrus improves to 19-5 overall and 2-1 in WSC play. The Owls have one regular season contests remaining on the schedule when they close out regular season conference play next Wednesday when they host Ventura College for a 3:30 PM match-up.
