Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team wrapped up their 2015 regular season on Wednesday afternoon with a big win over Ventura. The Owls held the Pirates scoreless over the entirety of the first half on their way to a 19-7 victory.

It took some time for the Owls offense to get going on the afternoon, but their defense was on point. Citrus scored just three goals in the first quarter, but kept Ventura off the board. The Owls picked things up in the second quarter, coming alive with eight goals and still holding the Pirates scoreless. Citrus kept it going in the third with a 6-2 quarter, before resting nearly every starter in the fourth as Ventura outscored the Owls 5-2.

In the win, Citrus was led by freshman James Adams who scored four goals and drew three ejections. Sophomore Jonathan Lotero added four more scores, while freshman Daniel Velazquez had three goals, a team best five assists, and a team best five steals. Sophomore goalie Brad Thomson rounded out the day with eight blocks.

With the win, Citrus improves to 20-5 overall and 3-1 in WSC play. The Owls will take the weekend off before taking part in the 2015 WSC Championships next Thursday when they take on Cuesta College in the opening round at LA Valley College. The game time is to be determined.
