Sophomore utility Chantz Gladden will continue his collegiate career at McKendree College after committing to the Bearcats.

Gladden played in 18 games for Citrus College, making 16 starts for the Fighting Owls. The Chino Hills, Calif., native scored 24 goals on the year and assisted on eight others. He also grabbed five steals and drew 31 exclusions.

"Something about Citrus I'm going to remember is how helpful and supportive the staff really is," said Gladden. "Everyone here works close together to push everyone to be not only the best student or athlete, but a good person as well. The caring nature and family-like staff is something I'm going to miss."

Last year, McKendree went 12-12 overall and 5-1 in Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) play. The Bearcats advanced to the MAWPC West Region Championship looking to defend their crown, but came up just short in a 15-14 overtime loss in the championship game.

"I'm looking forward to playing at the highest level at McKendree," said Gladden. "We will not only be competing against other NCAA Division II schools, but we also play against Division I teams. I'm excited to see that high level of play and experience it for myself."
