LA Valley
Citrus College battled LA Valley in the third-place game of the 2021 Western State Conference Water Polo Tournament, but ultimately fell 14-11.
The Owls end the year with a 15-13 record, while the Monarchs boast a 10-11 mark.
Ian Tauer led the Owls with three goals and two assists, while Jullian Nichols, Breck Weiny and Peter Herrera each netted a pair of goals. Matty Roebuck and Abram Villegas also scored.
Jacob Perez made 11 saves in the cage for the Owls.
The Monarchs took an early 4-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Owls matched the visitors goal-for-goal in the second and third quarters.
Citrus couldn't quite complete the comeback, however, as LA Valley limited the Owls to two goals in the final quarter, securing the 14-11 win for the Monarchs.
