Citrus College closed out the Riverside City College Tournament Saturday with a pair of games. The Owls dropped a 16-12 battle to Rio Hondo before falling 20-9 to Palomar College, moving to 4-16 on the year.
Rolan Solis led the Owls with five goals in the opener, while Jullian Nichols scored three and assisted on four others. Logan Haberle also had three goals, while Nathan Salcedo capitalized once.
In the cage, Matteo Velasquez made 12 saves to try to keep the Owls in the fight.
Just three-and-a-half hours later, the Owls took on Palomar to close out the tournament.
Nichols led Citrus with three goals and had two assists and three steals. Haberle and Jacob Cruz added two goals apiece, while Solis and Salcedo also scored for the Owls.
After playing seven games in four days, Citrus gets a much-deserved rest before hosting Chaffey College on Thursday at 4 p.m.
