Citrus Competes with Cuesta

Citrus College took on top-seeded Cuesta College in the Western State College Tournament semifinals on Friday but dropped a 23-12 loss.

The Owls drop to 8-22 overall, while the Cougars improve to 26-6 and advance to the WSC Championship game.

Logan Haberle and Jullian Nichols each had four goals for the Owls, while Rolan Solis netted a pair of goals and Nathan Salcedo and Jacob Cruz also found the back of the cage. Solis added six assists in the game, while Nichols had three.

In the cage, Matteo Velasquez finished with 10 saves.

The Owls aren't done yet, playing for third place in the tournament on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. against Santa Monica College.
